Many people earning around ₹25,000 a month ask the same question: will a lender give me a personal loan, and how much? The short answer is that many lenders do lend at this salary. The amount depends less on the salary itself and more on how much of it is already going into EMIs.
Most lenders look at your FOIR – fixed obligations to income ratio. In plain words: how much of your monthly take-home pay goes into EMIs. Many lenders are comfortable when all your EMIs together, including the new one, stay around 40 to 50% of take-home pay.
With ₹25,000 take-home and no other EMI, a lender allowing 45% would accept a total EMI of about ₹11,250. If you already pay a ₹4,000 phone or bike EMI, the room left for a new loan is only about ₹7,250.
The loan amount an EMI supports depends on the interest rate the lender offers you and the number of months. As a rough guide, a longer term lowers the EMI but you pay more interest in total. Try your own numbers in the EMI calculator before you apply – enter the EMI you can afford and change the months to see the amount.
Use the eligibility calculator to see a realistic range for your salary and EMIs. Then apply once, through a platform that shows offers from more than one lender, instead of applying separately everywhere.
It differs by lender and city. Many lenders start around ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month for salaried people, paid into a bank account.

It is harder and offers may be smaller or costlier. Improving your score for a few months first often gets a much better result.
